Personally, I vacillate on the subject.
Sometimes, I feel that the manned flight to Mars is truly necessary for exploration.
Other times, I feel that robots can do the job better and cheaper. There are good arguments for both positions.
The coin is still flipping and has not yet settled down to heads or tails.
