Bottom line is that this place is held together by intellect and maturity. This isn't your average BBS, the issues are not your average issues and the posters are not your average posters. It may have started as a place to weed out anomalists, but it has grown into something much bigger than that.

Indeed everyone's frustration with each others views is evidence that we do respect the folks who post here - and everyone always likes to think that they know best. So when someone comes along who disagrees, it sets off a little ego deflation and triggers a defense mechanism, in this case often demonstrated by a retaliatory post.

Yes clearly there are cliques here that appear:

Conservative vs. Liberal
Pro-mars vs. Pro-moon
Nexus Interface vs. Static ;-)

Yet there are very many sub-issues of import that bind many of us in diverse ways:

Writing
Literary interests
Aviation afficionados
Computer interests
etc...

So we ride out the storm and try to remember we all don't have asses or elephants tattooed on our foreheads.
