Just to indulge for a moment... an awful lot is being made these days of strings, branes, and M-theory [one of my favorites in my cosmology collection is Brian Greene's The Elegant Universe, though it's probably outdated by now, being three years old]. Then there's the Many Universes concept.
I'm just curious if you've thought about how well, if at all, the vortex theory dovetails with any of that.
