There must have been some interesting collisions going on in the early days of the Solar System. Something knocked Uranus on the side and busted up her moons. Something also happened at Neptune which caused Triton to orbit backwards in relation to Neptune’s rotation.
Perhaps something collided with a large moon of Neptune at such an angle and force, the debris orbited the opposite direction of the original moon. From this debris, Triton formed. Perhaps today, her insides are still warm from the energy of this creation. Could Pluto have been the one who collided, breaking in half in the process. Or maybe Pluto/Chiron were part of the original moon. Maybe all the mass that make up Triton, Pluto and Chiron are parts of the original moon and the world that collided with it.
If only we could travel back in time.
And while we are back in time, it might be possible to see an Earth-like ocean covered Venus and a similar Earth-like Mars. I read in Astronomy Magazine a while ago that Venus may have had a brief period shortly after it’s formation where it was covered with oceans of water.

The early Solar System was an interesting place.
