I believe what we are seeing here is further evidence that distance from the sun alone does not determine planetary heat but rather that heat is COMPLETELY based upon frequency and types of wave interaction with the planet itself.
Hmm, how about within the planet itselt as it gravitationally interacts with another planet/celestial body = tidal heating perhaps?
