Especially from Moveon.org. Anybody can write stirring prose about patriotism, particularly when covering their own ass. I've seen right-wingers do that too.
Moveon.org was founded to rescue Clinton from himself during his legal trials. That's where the name comes from. It survives the Clinton administration as a buttmonkey for the Left and the Democratic Party, with which it marches in lockstep. To give it due credit, like People for the American Way, it is not anti-American. Just anti-Republican. Unfortunately I cannot say the same for A.N.S.W.E.R.
These people said nothing when Clinton bombed Iraq, and called for regime change. These people did not march in the streets when U.S. military forces were sent to Africa, Europe, and the Middle East through eight years of the Clinton Administration.
And they say nothing that does not directly serve the goal of wrecking the Republicans and bringing the Democrats to power. Hence their silence about Iran.
Every single protestor who marched in the anti-war demonstrations marched with a sign blaming America, Blair and Bush. Not one called on Saddam to do anything in the cause of peace and to prevent war. Not one. As far as true motivations of the organizers are concerned, this is conclusive, in my opinion.
One of Zack's web sites can be found here. He founded it in December of 1998.
