re: An almost indestructible keyboard

Actually i was dissapointed with the software in that link I put up. Luckily I didn't buy any, just tried the free ones. The programs cannot be exited until you've finished the exercise. Also they require a lot more motor skill than a preschooler learning to use a mouse should be required to have. also the software is pretty boring.

Thanks for the link to the software. Jess loves Blue's Clues and Clifford ( and Barney, and Elmo, and Arthur). So finding something in those categories is sure to be a hit. i would prefer something freeware or demoware for now, so i can see what there is to offer, but i am finding thhe only freeware for kids is lousy, so it's probably time to pull out the credit card.

The one I really can't stand are Teletubbies. My wife and I have always turned off the TV or changed the channel when they come on. Without ever having told her to, Jess always does the same now. Lead by example I guess. The reason I can't stand them has nothing to do with the purple teletubby that carries a purse btw (although that does bother me). Kids won't pick up on that anyway. My problem is that they aren't educational at all. If you want your toddler to learn nothing but babytalk, let them watch teletubbies, for that's all they talk. The shows I forced myself to watch were so abysmally absent of anything (plot, games, purpose) that it was all I could do to keep from throwing something at the tv.
