They'll come up with something else. Kind of like watching someone try to cross a river by jumping between ice floes.
I'm betting they're going to jump on the deficit bandwagon again pretty soon when this Niger thing craps out. As for economic growth, about the only major economic indicator left that doesn't show a strong recovery is employment. My IRAS are actually starting to make some money again.
