The California state budget under Davis increased spending 36 percent over the past four years. Revenues increased 28 percent.
That's the story.
Now, after a budget increase of 36 percent, California Democrats insist we cannot cut the budget even slightly, citing utter disaster to almost everyone in the state. Oddly, four years ago, all our needs were being covered handily with 36 percent less money.
As I said, spending is also an issue in our Federal deficit, and cannot be overlooked. Keeping spending under control has not been handled well by either party, or by Bush.
