Thank you Don for pointing out how hopeless our position is AFTER THE FACT.
These conservatives couldn't see our position BEFORE, now they expect us to have a position that will work AFTER.

I saw your position just fine, thanks. The position of the anti-war types before was to leave Saddam in power, and hope to God that a few U.N. inspectors could somehow keep Saddam from pulling the wool over their eyes, or that Saddam would on his own just decide to give up on WMD and domination of the Middle East, reform, and remain "contained." (contained by what?) Pure Neville Chamberlain. Except Neville Chamberlain didn't march up and down the streets screaming that England was an imperialistic monster.

This leaves aside that he never would have allowed inspectors back in in the first place without a threat of military force.
