re: "children of the entitlement generation"

Have you thought recently about how much "entitlement" there is tied up in retirement? You want to be the one to cut them off?

No politician wants to be the one to tell the most reliable voting group in America that there's no such thing as a free lunch, that the Ponzi schemes on which Medicare and Social Security operate can, like all Ponzi schemes, only operate for so long, and that they're going to be eating America's seed corn in a few years.

So, I guess we just all hide our heads in the sand until it falls down around our ears. I'm sure not counting on getting anything back from the system.

Meanwhile, the blithering idiots in Washington are all set to add more entitlements to the load.

"Entitlement generation?" The kneejerk response of most modern average Americans to almost ANY need or problem is to run squalling to Washington D.C. And the politicians, who gain and keep power by making citizens dependent on them, are not going to discourage this. Economics? What's that got to do with anything?
