Back in the early '80s, I traveled a lot as an applications engineer for a company that made process control equipment (an app engineer is somebody who sells to engineers). I spent a few days in Midland, Texas, talking to the head of one of the big oil exploration companies. I spent one night at his mansion, and that night his son took me out into the countryside for a drinking spree with a couple of his buddies.
One of them was named George.
Given the social circle, I wouldn't be surprised if it was Dubya. Certainly the behavior fits, a whoopin' and a hollerin', staggering around the badlands baying at the Moon, processing LoneStar at a prodigious rate.
Of course, drinking with George isn't nearly the singular distinction as being The Man Who Goosed Hillary. There must be hundreds of people who can claim to have gone on a bender with Dubya back then. And it's in the nature of such things that my recollections are a bit hazy. Maybe it was some other rich Midland kid named George. What are the odds?
