Ah, the smell of media machinations in the morning...
I could find a veteran--typically Vietnam veterans from the '60s--to back up any leftist opinion you care to name. If I find two, I get to use the term in plural, which gives the impression that there are a vast number of veterans complaining about Bush and his wearing of a flight suit. Kind of cool, huh? Best of all, ANYONE who was in the military, including the guy who shoved a broom in Fort Dix, is rightfully a "veteranMight be interesting to ask the firm exactly how many complaints they got.
This is a lot like "military sources," and other vague references. Names are rarely used, since it then becomes rapidly obvious that about five guys are the source of all these complaints. For example, almost every anti-Bush story referring to "former intelligence sources" generally turns out to be the same three or four disgruntled ex-CIA guys.
I know damn well a lot more military men think highly of Bush than otherwise, but then reporters don't have to mention that part, do they?
Bush actually wore a flight suit to fly jet fighters during his Guard stint, but never mind that.
That being said, I personally think the Bush action figure is a bit corny, but no goofier than the Talking Clinton Action Figure.
