re: Democracy might be impossible, US was told

"Don't you supporters feel a little jerked around? Not even a little? "

Not one bit. We can only create conditions that allow for democracy. The ultimate determination is dependant on Iraqis making choices- and these choices could lead to a repressive regime.
At this point in time I feel much more optimistic that Iraq will become a vibrant democracy. Overall the whole operation up to this point, has met or exceeded my expectations. And the miltary and Commander in Chief have done good a job. Even the State Dept deserves much praise in their work with forming a coalition and working with the UN. And Even the UN has moved quickly and in a positive way (more than anything I had hoped for).
