There are a LOT of places poorly protected in Iraq. The U.N. facility was a deliberate choice.
When they reeled in Omar Abdel Rahman for bombing the World Trade Center, he had plans for other targets, including the United Nations building in New York.
In April, a small bomb exploded near the U.N. building in Jakarta, without an American soldier anywhere in sight to "destabilize" the situation. U.N. buildings have been bombed in Kosovo. In 1999, there were rocket attacks against a U.N. building in Islamabad.
Do you honestly think that the only motivation for psychotic radicals to attack the U.N. is George W. Bush?
You and others can keep deluding yourself that if it weren't for the United States, the world would be a peaceful place of milk and honey, with creatures like Saddam knitting socks to pass the time. As always, someone else will have to do the dirty work.
