re: "God'll get you for that, alcaray . . ."

Before Big Bang (AKA the Dawn of Time), what was there?

Currently unknown and untestable, ergo currently non-scientific speculation.

As we get closer to the BB (or whatever all that bright noise was out there), we learn more about things closer to home, which can be scientifically honed as tools for deeper penetration to the "truth" out there.

Phil posted an easy target, that being the legitimacy of creation science. Breaking it down, I find:

‘Creation science' is mere guesswork on the part of philosophical dreamers. It may be right, but the data involved is pure speculation.

‘Evolution science’ is a testable theory, particularly since the completion of the genome project back in April of this year. It may be wrong, but is scientifically testable.

Both controversial and frightening. Even Hollywood shies away from a sci-fi venture that states there’s really nothing more to life and death than living and dying -- though one would guess otherwise, what with Rodeo Drive packed with young (now not so young) Goths. Hence, creation science. What we now see is a tested interrelation between the common sea sponge and homo sapiens, and a firm bridge can be built between these two animals.

Show anything similar for creation science, and you’ll be in line for the Nobel.

The way I see it, scientific tools for testing must first be built before true science can be applied,
Dan
