Bingo

Didn't count, but around the tenth post I opened this morning had the header in it. Here's what came up with View Source, up to the first HTML tag:

By the way, just for shits&giggles I went back just now and opened the same post. The header didn't show up in the window this time, and it was excluded from the View Source file, too.

RoadRunner provides something called "Medic" (which they get from an OEM called "BroadJump") that purports to monitor network performance. The service has been *very* erratic for the past week, with various servers going offline and back on. I'm thinking your theory about 'damaged in shipping' is probably close, even though the guess about duped headers didn't pan out.

All Darwin and Einstein had were theories, too ;)
