What are surface conditions of terrestrial planets like when internal heat is released on a massive scale? For example, try modelling Venus during its relatively recent global resurfacing event. Were there metalic glaciers? What of the Moon during its mare-filling era(s)? What kind of flow features do we currently find on Io?
What of apparently active icy moons like Triton, Europa, Enceladus, and Iapetus?
What are the expected surface and atmospheric differences and similarities between a 2400° surface temperature induced from solar proximity or from internal heat release? What are the differences and similarities between either of those possibilities and a 2400° transient surface temperature resulting from impact?
Since asteroid impact is more likely to occur sooner than the sun entering its red giant dottage, I want to know dambit! ... ... ...
