Hidden weapons

There was the jet, yes (which somehow has become, to Tom, "fighters" plural)... do you really think that this could be made airworthy?? Jet fighters aren't like gold bars, to be buried in the desert sand without coverings and then dug up and flown. I have no idea why they buried it, maybe just to hide the fact that they once possessed one, but it sure as hell wasn't with the intent of flying it in the future. Come on, Tom, you know planes.

"Plural" is correct.

Search teams found several MiG-25s and Su-25 ground attack jets buried at al-Taqqadum air field west of Baghdad. I don't know if the jet pictured was one of these or a different one.

I don't know why they would bury them if they didn't expect to be able to refurbish them in the future. If they were trying to get rid of them, why not scrap them? Hell, to the best of my knowledge, it wasn't even illegal for Iraq to possess them, so they must have been hidden with the invasion in mind.

I've seen planes frozen in ice restored, and that's a lot harder on the structure.

Plans for weapons of mass destruction that are hidden, not destroyed, are significant. Why were they hidden? Why not burned?

Facilities with no traces of biological weapons may not have been used yet. They weren't balloon filling trailers. I know that, because I looked up what Marconi's trailers looked like.
