Republicans and the recall.
Bush and the national Republican party are trying to pretend the whole recall doesn't exist. Don't ask me why. Our local talk show hosts, one of which was instrumental in getting the recall off the ground, are pissed about this. Explanations from Republican officials along the lines of "not wanting to steer this into an anti-Bush thing" sound pretty lame.
Heck, the California Republican party (speaking of lame) didn't want anything to do with the recall either until very late in the game.
