I'm a little puzzled by something. To the best of my knowledge, depleted uranium is about as radioactive as my socks. I would not expect its signature to be the same as a similar block of enriched uranium, which would be emitting at least gamma rays, if not neutrons. Am I wrong in thinking that it's unfair to expect detectors to pick up depleted uranium in the same way as they would enriched?
