I'll bet you anything that when the first astronauts to have walked on the surface of Mars, will be on their way back, the most lasting image they will have of their entire mission will be of our own planet.
Just like for the Apollo astronauts.
And because they won't have seen many colors during all those months.
And because that would mean getting back to their loved ones, to home.
And because of the sense of accomplishment.
And because of the blackest black sky that will surround them for months and months.
They were gone to another world, but will mainly have rediscovered (or even discovered) their own world, the Earth
