The point was that if we fought the way our enemies did, if we had the morals our enemies do, if we were as bad as the Left keeps painting us, we would have simply obliterated Iraq and Afghanistan with very little effort, instead of spending American lives and fortunes trying to minimize casualties and damage, and then bust our asses trying to rebuild free nations afterwards.
Why is this so hard to understand?
Our compassion is considered "stupid" by our enemies, who use it as a weapon against us in their tactics. If Americans were as evil as we are supposed to be, we would not be doing what we do.
As an example, Yasser Arafat is surrounding himself with women and children to shield himself from harm. They are disposable, so his fat ass can survive. Yasser Arafat sees nothing wrong with his people talking kids into blowing themselves to bloody shreds along with innocent people, although Arafat will never wrap dynamite around his own gut.
This is how people like Yasser Arafat think. Americans don't, and neither do Israelis. And why that pisses the Left off is probably worth some psychological study.

"Nice" wasn't the point.
