I know you regard Bary's opinions with disdain, but if Hoagland and Cassini alarmists can gain a public forum I see no reason to believe Barry can't. MSR is not immediate enough for any media to pay him attention, but that may change once a mission is really underway. I still can't believe that you don't see uncontrolled transfer of meteorites from Mars to Earth relevant to the discussion on controls needed for intended MSR. That's like taking extravigant precautions to avoid SARS in a hospital when you take none at home in a neighborhood with many SARS cases.
