Bush as Global Leader

I find myself amused at the responses to President Bush's speech. The man is truly one of the best foreign policy leaders the US has ever had - better than Nixon or Wilson and as morally clear as Reagan. His words yesterday were more significant than anyone really knows.

The US democrats, France & Germany have this day belittled compassion, trampled children, fed child pornography, discarded AIDS victims and helped proliferators of weapons of mass destruction feel well loved.

Had Chirac or Schroeder delivered the exact same speeches - the UN assembly would be on their feet in an extended ovation. Instead they applauded solidly and then turned around to put a knife in the US President's back.

Yes, Chirac has an inferiority complex. Most Frenchmen do. In his world the US is not fit enough to be the global superpower, despite our saving France several times over from extinction or attempt to clean up their mess in Southeast Asia.

As such, instead of using this opportunity to move forward he pulls the typical socialist whining routine out of his briefcase and proceeds to put on a dog and pony act about how the US is destroying world peace.

France wants to be a shaper of global politics - yet they have now been prostituting their politics for thirty years due to their failed colonization of Algeria. The whole of France has a population of 60 million people among a world of 6 billion. To offset this apparent disparity they hope to turn the EU into a political body instead of an economic union as it was initially designed.

That their foreign policy has been an unprecedented global disaster since the founding of the Republic is entirely lost upon them and they are hellbent upon putting their failed policies upon the rest of Europe and the world.

All that matters to these pseudo-leaders is that the US is cut down to size. The US as global superpower makes them uncomfortable. Especially when it is lead by someone who has shown an innate commonsense and inability to be swayed by obstinance and obstructionist, bellicose behavior.

Columnists and analysts have identified that France is now actively at war with the US and is not really an ally. This is true and as the politicization of the EU continues as a proxy powerbase for France, their audacity will increase not decrease.

In such a bizarre world - it is conceivable that in the future China and Russia, two of our former enemies will be embraced as our major foreign allies alongside Britain, especially as these nations themselves undergo democratization of their economies over the next twenty years. They would take the place of France and Germany our former allies.

Germany, like France, is collapsing like an accordian under the weight of its reunification, influx of communists, acceptance of the Euro and an immigration policy that further cripples its economy. To add to these woes its present leaders listen to France, at their own peril, instead of ignoring the French and their pettiness as is customary.

Italy, which has been traditionally left leaning has leadership that realizes it is third man out in the German-France-Belgian Europerialist expansion movement. Sweden has said, "No thanks!" but Latvia voted a resounding yes. Of course, the delicious irony that Latvians hugged, kissed and celebrated with Hitler's Nazi soldiers and troops as emancipators and liberators is entirely lost on these EU types. Yes, anything looks very good next to pure communism.

So here we are, the 21st century - a century we reached in one piece in large part because of American influence and effort - yet one in which the global community has grown resentful of its largest benefactor, jealous of its power and fearful of its kind and compassionate inhabitants.

So the world throws away an opportunity to improve itself, strengthen itself and increase its prosperity - led by the French with their legendary pettiness and historic selfishness.

At this present moment in time nations have a very clear choice. They can follow the French and become as the French are - or they can Follow the US and live like Americans.

Pettiness and smallness keep a nation small. America comes to the UN offering a vision of a better world. A world where AIDS is eradicated, where their is Peace in the Middle East, where the slavery of children and the proliferators of instruments of death are universally condemned.

Unfortunately the nobility and wisdom of such a message will always be lost on petty and insecure nations and minds.
