Best one I've got so far

You keep steering this around to me being unconcerned about a law being broken. I keep steering it back to my main issue, which is the hypocrisy and real agenda of those pursuing this.

The people currently pushing this controversy in Washington, New York, and elsewhere don't give a flying fuck about this issue in the context of national security or whether the CIA is being compromised. This is a shot at Bush, pure and simple. A number of those engaged in the attack participated cheerfully in the near-destruction of the agency over the past decades, stripping it of power and capabilities.

Rush dug up this typical example.

Note Schumer's comments. Compare them to current comments.

You know down to your marrow that if the leak from the CIA had served the Left's interests in Washington, the leaker would be being hailed as a brave First Amendment hero by the same people demanding him to be "frog-marched" somewhere in handcuffs. How many "anonymous CIA sources" have shown up in anti-Bush stories about Iraq? Leaking classified information is also a crime.

If I seem a little over-irked by this, it's probably watching people in Washington get all puffy about threats to the CIA and national security who have made a lifetime career of crippling our national defenses. We're talking about the same people who still worship at the feet of Daniel Ellsberg and Philip Agee. Give me a break, already.

All that being said, I will concur that I'm probably overreacting.
