All that right wing junk about MECha is just nonsense. First of all, MECha is not a national organization. It is a collection of completely independent local college campus organizations that were and are devoted to supporting hispanic students succeed in their college educations. Each local chapter is completely unique and different from any other campus chapter. And each local chapter has to be approved by the local campus student affairs office. MECha has no budget, no national office, no central body. In the late 1960's and early 1970's MECha chapters were like a lot of student groups on campus...leaning left. It's mainly a social groups to help chicanos and chicanas get laid. Big frigging deal.
