Thanks Nick, I've read Lucifer's hammer a couple of times. Good book.
I read the first and second Rama, but not the last of the trilogy.
My specific interest was in the shockwave, both from the atmospheric passage and the impact. Not so much the strike itself.
After reading some of the dry science on the links it scares the bejeebers out of me!
Who cares what the chances are.
