"Defend Democracy!"
I'm seeing a LOT of these signs calling on me to "Defend Democracy" by voting NO on the recall.*
Davis was elected with 3,469,025 votes, or 47.7 percent of voters. This was with a turnout of fifty percent of registered voters, which means he was elected with about 24 percent of registered voters.
To be recalled, Davis has to be booted out by more than 50 percent of voters. Depending on the turnout, it is entirely possible he will be voted out by more voters than voted him in.
I'm having trouble figuring out where we're losing "democracy" in this process.
