Yes on Recall: 4,246,844 voters (54.9 percent). This is almost 800,000 more voters than voted Davis in in the first place.
Arnold for Governor: 3,601,797 voters (48.2 percent). About 133,000 more voters than voted Davis in in the first place.
"Defending democracy?" This IS democracy.
Republicans shouldn't get too cocky. A vote for Arnold was probably more of a vote for a clean slate than for any specific principles of government. Principled Republicans voted for McClintock, and his showing was not that good.
