re: Bad economic news
Is US joblessness decreasing, or just not increasing quite as fast as it had been?
For the first time in eight months, the economy actually added jobs in September - 57,000 of them - helping to keep the nation's unemployment rate at 6.1 percent, the government reported last week.
From what I understand, the US needs to add about 100,000 jobs per month to keep pace with increases in the size of the workforce. So an increase in jobs is better than a decrease, but there is still a ways to go.
