Bush is attempting to get some of the positive news across at speeches and other venues. Don (below) dismisses this as "spin."

Online, there is a lot of information available. Here's a few just from government sources, so you can see that they're not falling down on the job.

Centcom.mil often has press releases on construction and other efforts in Iraq. Click on the various links around the page. No doubt they are sent to major media outlets, like most press releases, and immediately spiked.

The White House web site also has a lot of positive news about Iraq and Afghanistan. Check here and here.

Don't rely on the papers and television news exclusively for your information. There's other sources, and the Internet provides the means to get at the original information, not just what the press chooses to tell you. Had David Kay's statement not been available to anyone but the press, the lies and distortions about it would have gone unchallenged.

The mainstream media is twisting the news for political reasons. It's that simple. Oh, you'll hear the excuses about "bad news just selling better," but that's a load of horse manure.
