re: To Nick and R.L.

Thanks for responding in such a useful fashion, Johannes. I already said what was polite and politic. Now I'll say it in buckets, and without sanitation. You are absolutely full of sh*t, Johannes - not just Bullsh*t, but the real stinking ordure. Your stupid ideas about how things work aren't even graceable by the term "physics".

Are you saying that the volume of a hydrogen or helium balloon does not increase when it ascends higher into the atmosphere?

I should have expected this stupidity from someone who imagines that the radioactivity of Chernobyl could have an appreciable effect on the Earth's atmosphere, when our nearby fusion reactor, aka Sol, is blasting the exosphere with protons at a greater rate per year than our entire nuclear arsenal.

Obviously your opinion is that no matter how much radiation in the form of radioactivity we expel into the atmosphere the effect of that energy will not increase the kinetic energy of even one atmospheric molecule.
I would expect that kind of thinking from a person whose skull would not expand if stuck into a vacuum chamber.

Imagine an expanding Earth that has expanded by 400% (4 times) in surface area in 250 Ma. That's 200% (twice) in radius and 800% (8 times) in volume. Since Earth NOW has a mean density of 5.5 g/cc, then at 250 Ma, according to your stupid ideas it needed to have a density of 44 g/cc. That's twice the density of plutonium.

I do not know where you obtained the 400% expansion rate, I certainly did not indicate that the varying pressure idea could account for a 400% expansion rate.

If we back track this sort of process, we find at 500 Ma, a requirement for Earth to be 1/4 of it's present radius, and at 750 Ma, 1/8, etc...Following this exponential trend, at 4.6 Ga, when the Earth was first formed, it should have been 18.4 metres in radius and contain the entire present-day mass of the Earth.

I suppose that you were there to measure it and can verify that the Earth was the same size then as it is now.

This is clearly as ludicrous as the idea that you are capable of coherent thought. Neutronium, for example, has a density of 4*10^17 g/cc. but this "Earth Seed" would have a density 570 times greater and would likely swallow itself as a black hole in a fashion that would be admirably satisfactory to the human race were you to do so yourself and dissapear up your own event horizon.(As we say in scientific circles, this argument is one of reductio ad absurdum, and you are the absurdus).

Very funny and creative flame. One question: If the Universe can expand, then why not the Earth?

Of course, you could always give up on your microbubble theory and posit creation of matter in an expanding Earth. Perhaps this is the way your brains are filled day-after-day by decomposing faecal matter and morbid concepts, without a hint of credibility.

Since you seem to know, please tell the rest of us how mass came into being?

Or wait! maybe we're going to get the "There's a black hole at the centre of the Earth and it's leaking matter by Hawking radiation" theory. Try that for an idea, it's as good as any of yours (i.e. as accurate as a square piston and as much use as a chocolate teapot).

WOW is that YOUR idea or did someone else explain it to you?

If it is YOUR idea then I must apologise because ideas like that (stupid as they may be) can not originate from a totally empty cranium.

In fact, in future, please give us a list of areas in which you want to hold stupid and unsupportable ideas and we'll supply them for you from the list of garbage already out there in the world. That will save you the effort of trying to find two neurons to rub together boy-scout fashion, and generate a spark!

Naw I don’t like the idea, It would take the challenge out of creative thoughts.

Do us a favour by curling up and dying, and format your hard disk while you're at it. Then feed your modem into the insinkerator and connect mains voltage across your motherboard. Feel free to use your tongue as a conductor for a better contact.

You know; I am just recovering from a bad cold and one of my computers quit working ???? Do you believe in powers of mind over matter, such as, you do not have much of a mind and it does not matter.

Go play in your own league, sunshine.
You tell me what “league” I should play in?
<FLAME>
I’m sure you could do better than that. Think of something more creative to blow off some of that stupidity out of your brain.
PS. What is a “insinkerator”
Keep smiling
