I see that as a different question. Kids wear crosses, crucifix and star of David to school. Jews in public schools wear the beanie (yama something?). If they want to wear the veil and take the inevidable teasing, let them.
This is not religious oppression, it is choice and as long as the govermment allows freedom of religion, some expression of that freedom must be allowed.
