The tales of Adair are for the gullible. He befriended Neil Armstrong's mother and hung out at her house when he was 10? Yeah, right.
As for his knowing Wernher von Braun that's another laugh. Wernher died in the mid-70s retired a few years before that because he had cancer. He didn't hang out with Armstrong or any of the astronauts as they were from entirely different generations and backgrounds. If Steven Greer kept him in his hotel room it was only because he didn't want his lies to embarass or immediately invalidate his disclosure project.*
Larry covered the military aspect very clearly and I'll add that the only advanced military tech is the stuff on the fast track at DARPA. Bush's parallel semi-privatized defense & intelligence groups, formed by Executive Order, which also conduct research and design are the only other groups that now operate in close to "real time" or about 90% of the speed of the private sector development. The private sector is always faster. The government just has more money to throw at a project - but that bureaucracy always eats it up.
As for alien technology...what do you think that we have which is so advanced it couldn't possibly be human? Indeed if we did have "reverse-engineered" tech why don't our planes look like "ufos" or saucers? Why are our weapons still projectiles? Why were we not able to take out Saddam with a beam from space?
Yes, the US technology is advanced - but not so much so that any alien secrets are required. I'm not going to say we don't have "unidentifiable" artifacts - we may indeed have some stuff that has no recorded terrestrial origin (RTO). However, if it was alien and it crashed it probably didn't work too well, much less give any means to reverse engineer anything. For example if a piece of metal was "alien" but could not be reproduced because it didn't exist here - what could be done with it? For example if the US had recovered a large fragment of a "saucer" in the desert that was "alien" and it had been analyzed and chemical tests had been performed early on and then later as technology advanced electron microscopic examination was conducted, what would be gained? If the element had an increased hardness or atomic weight in excess of our own elements it would likely be very radioactive here on earth - and deadly for humans to be around. If there was no such element here we could cook it to try and melt it, or we might try to find it's exact tolerances. But again...if we can't mine it or create it in a laboratory it really is of very little practical use other than as a curiousity.
Reverse engineering was used by Soviets and the Japanese on our captured planes in WWII. Our bomber was copied by the Russians while we were their "ally" and landed at an airfield after an emergency landing. Working and complete items are usually required for reverse-engineering. The Japanese would buy our cameras, tvs and stereos and take them apart and copy them - usually making a slight improvement here or there in the process. How many complete and working alien craft or technological artifacts can the US possibly possess? How many aliens defect to earth and give their spaceships over to be analyzed?
You see the dilemma? If aliens wanted to come to earth and share technology they would simply arrange to be born as a human and develop the stuff themselves. Does history point to advanced thinkers way ahead of their time? Sure. Da Vinci, Tesla, Edison, Faraday...thousands of folks fit this description. Were they aliens in disguise? Were they aided by whispering angels of creativity? Were they favored by Athena? Who knows? Does it really matter?
I don't listen to those shows because the few times I did tune in (way back around 98 & 99)- the stuff was so patently bogus it just frustrated one to listen to it and then hear folks call in all excited and serve as examples of our pitiful education system. If I wanted to OD on fabrications and creative fictions I'd just visit Rense.com or write my own and give them an air of credibility. My time is better spent pursuing other information - like reading a good exciting book on quantum chemistry ;-)
Don't take the attacks here personally - these boards were originally formed to keep out anything resembling pseudoscience or ufo-related posts.

There may be some alien tech, but David Adair certainly hasn't seen any.

- Amazing story.
- This a good story too.
- The only alein technology on Earth is the metal plate in your head. N/T (n/t)
- Do you define researching as doing nothing?
