Federal deficit for 2003: 374.2 billion.
That's the headline you will see everywhere.
What will not be mentioned very much (this article does) is that the predicted deficit for 2003 was almost $81 billion higher--$455 billion.
Now we're looking at predictions of $500 billion for 2004. We'll see.
