Yes, I can't believe that some of the Democrats voted for the Loan Thing. Its absurd, deranged even, to invade a country on flase pretense and then tell them they have to pay the bill for their reconstruction.

The only good that can come from this is a recondstructed Iraq, on its feet and free of debt. Its just about the only thing we can do to redeem ourselves to any degree, and it won't be cheap.

I was against this from the begining, and over time and as more details (or rather, the absence of details) are made manifest, the more I am against it. This is a butchers bill I devoutly did not want to see paid, but it is OUR bill.

This was never about oil, not directly. Many people are going to get rich off this, for sure, but this was about pure political power and pure blind idelogical thinking.
