Frank,
I do hope you aren't taking that WorldNetDaily article seriously. Its not a credible, nor accurate newssource.
The reason those physician affadavits were rejected by Judge Greeer is because none of those physicians actually physicially examined Ms. Schiavo. In fact, neither had your "highly respected speech pathologist" actually physically examined Ms. Schiavo. These individuals were probably paid for their "expert opinion." Many probably have religious motivations behind their willingness to write such affadavits.
And, yes, nineteen judges have ruled in one way or another in this matter, whether as direct trial judges or upon appeal. All have concurred with Judge Greer.
People keep grasping for straws to try and arrive at a different conclusion about the state of Ms. Schiavo. This is perfectly understandable. None of us wants anyone to die.
But the facts in this case are essentially undisputed by medical experts who have actually physically examined Ms. Schiavo - from direct observation of her behavior to reviewing ECKs and scans of whats left of her brain. She has no cerebral cortex. Without this essential part of her brain, which is involved in virtually every other part of her brain, she can have no mind and no consciousness. This is not an unknown part of medical science. The cerebral cortex and its function is well-studied and understood.
And yes, I've read all of the linked information and more on this subject.
