re: Yeah, as a matter of fact, it is.

"This is his research done by his company."

And therefore he has a higher responsiblity to make his case- which from my POV he failed miserably.

"He didn't use links? Why should he? Anyone who's not too lazy can do the homework him- or herself."

Well, if he wants to be seen as a professional- it's his problem.

"He's talking about his own product, and how he has seen it misused."

Misused? Get real! He is a whining a little shit.

"The fact that he owns the research gives him authority."

Yeah, and look how he abuses this tiny amount of authority- sounds like his customers would do themselves a favor by avoiding in the future of buying his product.

"He has given examples of the misuse. Nowhere in the history of scholarship has anyone had to do more than cite the source. Providing the full text of sources cited is not required."

History is fairly meaningless, he is in a new media which allows easy access for the reader to a reference. Regardless of the media, good scholarship provides exact source reference. To connect this owner of pollster company with scholarship is demeaning of scholarship.

"Besides, the use of links doesn't preclude spin. Your insistance on them as a method of authentication is naive."

Well, if you are critizing what someone said, it helps to show you aren't merely taking words from it's context and take cheap shots. If this guy was a trustable authority there might be some value in his authority- but his piece damages any trust he might have generated by any hard work he may have done.
Btw the "good news" is that when I originally read the poll I was worried it might have too much pro adminstration bias, but now it's likely the bias it was going the "other way".
Anyways Gallup has apparently done some polling recently in Iraq perhaps this will be a more professional poll, at least the owner of Gallup isn't as obviously unprofessional as this twerp.
