I would tend to agree with your analysis. I suspect that the Baathists are less prone to suicide attacks, than Al Qaeda.

This jury-rigged device tells another story - one of desperation. It probably took a lot of planning and effort to concoct this thing. But if this is the best that they can do after what was probably weeks of planning, what does that tell you? To be blunt, the Sunni Baathists have always been inept weasels. That's why we rolled into Baghdad so quickly.

Frankly, the more dangerous threat will come from the zealots. Its why we probably have more to fear from non-Iraqi insurgents and disillusioned Shiites, than from the Sunnis. These are the folks willing to commit suicide for Allah.
