Mostly its about a financially better life, sometimes its for a better spiritual life, and sometimes it's for elbow room (Daniel Boone etc). It's not just about finance, its simply about people wanting to go for their own personal reasons. What do you think motivated the polynesians?There are people who want to colonize Mars for reasons other than profit, therefore there are potential colonists without an economic motive. That you place your personal beliefs above declared intentions of others is interesting.
