Bush is keeping a campaign promise...

Lets just hope that the Bush plan, put in with its free market slant (which the Democrats absolutely hate), will be much better economically and socially than a similair plan that would be put in place by a Democrat President (at some point in the future...)

I think Bush is recognizing a political reality: Our country is headed toward a a greater and greater government role in the healthcare system (whether we want it or not)...By jumping in front of that political reality, Bush and the Republicans can start to create a well regulated BUT STILL PRIVATE healthcare system rather than a government-only (single-payer) system.

I agree with you though, who's gonna pay for this?

We'll See... Maybe the Bush economic team sees hugh economic growth ahead that we are all just not aware of...
