re: Great for Dow, Exxon, and Pfizer; not so great for the rest of us.
A few interesting, and typical, premises here:
- Industry scientists will give wrong and evil information, while government-funded scientists will always tell the truth.
- All industrialists are Republicans.
- Industries are just plain evil and would kill all of us given the slightest amount of leeway by our incorruptible government regulation system.
Personally, I think a cross-section of scientists from many different areas would be the best. But scientists outside of industry, working the grant mills, have just as many axes to grind as anyone else.
