Therapy

Oral contraceptives are also used to treat female reproductive tract problems and prevent pregnancies that would cause problems from a physical or emotional health perspective. Pregnancy, though a natural process, is very stressful in many ways.

Viagra is being used to restore potency to older men, by and large. One could argue that nature has taken this capacity away from an older man for a reason. I wonder if insurance will cover embryo implants in a post-menopausal woman (which I think is nuts, but that's just me). That would be a comparable benefit, restoring her fertility through medical tinkering.

Viagra is for men, and it's paid for. Contraceptives are for women, and they aren't paid for. I'm not necessarily saying that contraceptives should be covered, but if women don't receive benefits supporting their reproductive health, then neither should men.

Speaking as a member of the gender whose health care has been predicated, historically, on what works for men, it's just a little annoying.
