I think the cable needs to be in the form of a loop...Like a ski lift.
that way, there can be freight going up while at the same time freight is coming down.
Maybe there would be multiple cables in between the carrier cables... these would support the motor stations that would drive the carrier cables.
My honest opinion...
Not gonna happen. But I hope I'm wrong.
