France is ready for a law banning the veil in public schools but also the kippa or large crosses, any patent religious sign (not just ostentatious but patent (pas seulement ostentatoire mais ostensible)).
There's a majority of french muslim women who are also in favor of this law as the veil discriminates them.
However, it looks like one of the reasons why they wear it is for them to be left alone by the muslim boys who have become quite harassing and have difficulty understanding respect towards girls and women.

It's largely a matter of education. There are however natural ghettos forming in schools (muslims stick together and jews too, during playtime).

There also plans to add 2 days of vacation (one for the main jewish feast and one for the main muslim feast) in the public schools and perhaps to withdraw one or two christian related feast days.
