re: Closed differentiable manifolds

I've found plenty of ideas over the years on bootstrapping, beam power, space colony structure designs, etc., but I haven't found any ideas for launching large numbers of people into earth orbit. I believe there are two fundamental reasons for this:

1. The concept itself is enormously complicated.
2. The math is hard.

From my description the former problem is usually within the grasp of most people who care to read about it and understand it. But the latter is often beyond the grasp of those same people (and nobody else cares!). All these things conspire to keep it from happening. But wait a year or two and I'll probably have solved the most complicated problems.
