They are probably adding text in there to get past anti-spam software. The latest anti-spamware classes spam by weighing the words in a spam to decide if its spam or not. If the spammer gets lucky by having a few heavyweight non-spam words thrown in it might get past the filter.

The thing I don't get about spammers. They devise all sorts of ways to get around my filter and one in 100 might make it. However when one makes it through it pisses me off, so I'm certainly not in a buying mood. So why send me the spam in the first place? Only the gullible buy from a spammer. The gullible don't put up filters. So why even try to get around the filters? Spammers are certainly odd creatures.
