At one time VTOL still seemed to be the way to go and the Delta Clipper project seemed to be getting there before losing out to the VS.

I know that VL is fuel inefficient and is probably not going to happen but I will always wonder how far we would have gotten with DCX if the political VS hadn't arrived on the scene
