Trying to engineer a virus to target people of a specific race would require far greater knowledge of genetics than we have today. This puts to lie the notion of some people that AIDS was invented to target blacks, homosexuals, or some other group.
It may not be possible to target a specific race but how about engineering the method of transmittal?
I still think it's an odd coincidence that AIDS first spread through the Gay community and the "Country of Africa"
